UE5 - Haunt Stone Hollows

"Haunt Stone Hollows" is my new personal project, created in Unreal Engine 5.

As a long-time fan of fantasy themes, I’ve already explored various cave environments in my portfolio—but this time, I wanted to dive deeper into something darker and more unsettling. A pure Dark Fantasy atmosphere.

The project is presented as a short experimental cinematic from the player’s perspective. In this case, it’s a noob adventurer entering a mysterious cave in search of treasure… only to meet a quick and unfortunate end. I had a lot of fun editing the video, adding footsteps and ambient sounds to enhance the eerie tone of the scene. It was also my first time using my video editing skills for this kind of narrative-driven sequence.

I do wish I had more time to refine certain elements—especially the serpent creature, which plays a central role in the scene. It's not rigged, so all its movement had to be done manually through Unreal’s Sequencer, limiting its animation quality (like body movement, jaw opening, eye motion, etc.).

Inspiration: The Elder Scrolls, Mortal Shell and LOTR

How I Got Eaten by a Giant Cave Serpent. Tragic ending.
Experimental cinematic from first person view.

Collection of assets: Architectural pieces like walls, stairs, archways and smaller prop size rocks. Rock piles, individual rocks, mushrooms, vegetation and haze clouds deformed planes.
